We are looking for an engineer to lay the foundation of the API Engine for our products, a reusable API socket that we can deploy for each of our products. In addition, you will have a lot of freedom to develop your own stack. Currently, we lean towards an event-driven architecture, but ultimately, we will choose a design that best fits our products. In addition, you will have a lot of freedom to develop your own stack; currently, we prefer an event-driven architecture, but ultimately, we will choose a design that best fits our products. Job Description You are an engineer at heart, capable of making decisions to come up with the best solution for the problem you are working on. You are transparent about the choices you make and seek alignment with your colleagues where necessary. For example, with the tech lead if you believe there are better solutions than those within the current architecture framework. Our Stack We build our products in a modern cloud-native stack, making the most effective use of cloud services. We leverage services from our cloud provider so we don't have to reinvent the wheel. The frontends are built in Angular and hosted on AWS using Docker containers in ECS. The backend is accessed via a GraphQL API built on AWS AppSync. Our data resides in a NoSQL database and is accessed via Lambdas. The infrastructure-as-code is written by the backenders in Python with CDK. Therefore, we are working on a serverless, cloud-native, and data-driven SaaS app. What skills are preferred for this position? +++ You have experience working with AWS Lambda, SNS, SQS, or Step Functions. + You have experience working with commonly used APIs in the financial sector, such as those of well-known accounting software packages. + You have experience working with GitLab CI/CD. + You have experience working in the financial sector.
